MARCH SAQA NM MEETING

 Arizona (Four Corners Art Exhibition) may be a possibility for 2013 exhibiting your quilts. See the link below for the information about entry. Please note the postmark deadline is April 5, 2013. For the $35 fee you may enter up to three items.  The show will run from June 11 through July 20, 2013 and accepted quilts need to be delivered between May 28 and 31, 2013. This is a great opportunity for those who may not get into the Unfolding New Mexico Exhibition at the Capitol Rotunda.  Also this show does not have a specific southwest theme for those of you with quilts that may not have been appropriate for Unfolding New Mexico.  You may go to the link below to download the entry form for this exhibit.

Our next potluck meeting will be on March 16th at 11:00 am in Albuquerque at the Ambassadors for Christ Community Church, 1540 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE, Suite A. I will send a reminder with directions about a week before the meeting. Be ready to explain what inspires you (especially about the show and tell you bring). Is it something different for each piece; a particular piece of fabric; or color? Must you portray your subject in a particular way in each piece? Were you inspired by the light or texture you saw or didn’t see but wanted to add? Was it the perfect photo and why? …Thinking about these things will help you better define your style. I’m looking forward to it!
