The next New Mexico SAQA Regional meeting is Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Oliver La Farge Branch Library in Santa Fe at 11:00.

Take the St. Francis off ramp from 1-25. 

Turn Left onto Siringo Road.

Turn Right onto Llano Street.

The Library will be on your left.

No food is needed or is allowed to be served, but you can bring your own drink and snack if needed.  Be sure to bring show and tell. We were moved from the Southside library due to many events happening in Santa Fe and Albuquerque.  Thank you to the library staff for finding us another good location that is close with parking.

EXCELLENCE IN FIBERS 2016!

The latest issue of Fiber Arts Now (winter 2016/2017) is on the newsstands.  It includes their second annual exhibition, Excellence in Fibers 2016.  It is a juried exhibition in print.  Needless to say, the Jurors are prestigious and the pieces chosen are remarkable.  

Congratulations are extended to Betty Busby for the selection of her piece to be included in this exhibition.

Betty's comments in the publication:  "I have been revisiting my past life as a potter by recreating some classic ceramic forms in fiber.  The scale is tat of a life-size human, far larger than a classic ginger jar, to give it an immediate presence."

This year they expanded the exhibition to the New Bedford Art Museum (www.newbedfordart.org) from January 25-March 19, 2017.  Not all the pieces will be included at the Museum because not all of the pieces will be available for this time period.  Perhaps Betty will let us know if her piece will be included at the New Bedford Art Museum.
