The SAQA conference in Santa Fe was wonderful! There were 26 of us (those having New Mexico as their first or second region) in attendance. If you attended the conference and will be at the next meeting, would you be ready to tell us a memory of the conference; perhaps what inspired you, something new you learned, someone you met. Don’t forget show and tell. We want to see what you’ve been working on now that you’ve been so inspired.
Our next pot luck meeting will be this Saturday, May 18th at the International Folk Art Museum in Santa Fe at 11:00 am. I hope to see you there. We will have updates on current and future exhibits.
There has been a wonderful response to the Capitol Rotunda Show. Don’t forget to check out the article about the show in Quilter Magazine now available on newsstands. Also, Gale's Aspen quilt was in the Friday weekend magazine called PASATIEMPO, page 70.
A Walk in the Wild has been accepted as a special exhibit in Houston! Congratulations to those accepted: Busby- Desert Fox, Williamson- A Fire Among the Ponderosa, Bebee- A-Maizing and Where's Jack, Welsch- Aspens, FitzGerald- Bosque, Filatoff- Bosque, Altman- Aspen Walk, Oppenheim- Butterfly Busy, Gould- Watermelon Moon, Scroggs- Spring in Summer, S. Conley- S is for..., V. Conley- Windmill, Roderick- Ravens and In the Canyon. Anyone that doesn't have a regular sleeve needs to put one on for the show.
