Mark your calendars! Our next pot luck meeting will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 21
at the International Folk Art Museum in Santa Fe. In preparation for
“Beyond Tradition”, be ready to share with the group the most unusual
item you have ever used in an art quilt. This should be great fun! Bring
your latest quilting news. I hear there are winners among us! Let’s
celebrate together.
Please also read the following message
from Betty about our next exhibit. Hope you are working on something!
We can’t wait to see it.
I hope to see you on the 21st!
Wishing you Happy Art Quilting!
Michelle Jackson
SAQA NM Regional Representative
Hello everyone,
We have some great exhibition news for our SAQA/NM group!
The opening reception date for Beyond Tradition has been announced in Ruidoso- April 5, 2014.The
call for entry was sent to you all earlier this year, and I am going to
delay re-sending it until our current challenge, A Color Runs Through
It,has been finalized in October to avoid confusion.
The prospectus and entry form for
Color is attached to this email, and also copied below to make it easy
to fill out and email to me.
Please be considerate: if you simply
mail hard copies of your entry forms to me I have to manually retype all
of your information into the computer. Therefore
PLEASE send the information via email to me- you may also include a
copy of your entry form when you mail in your entry fee if you so
desire. All of the mailing instructions are in the call for entry.
In other news:

A Color Runs Through It will debut at the Silver City Fiber Art Festival November 15 & 16- I hope everyone will be able to attend!
Last but certainly not least, we have been invited back to the Capitol Art Gallery by Dr. Sanchez for 2015! The
theme for the exhibit is the brainchild of Cheryl FitzGerald to
coincide with a major Folk Art Museum show- ours will be called Cultural
Red-all about the roles that the color red has in human history and society. The call for entry will be released next spring. Time to get inspired!
