The Silver City Fiber Arts Festival is a two-day celebration of all things fiber. It will be held Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Grant County Conference Center, 3301 Highway 180 East, Silver City, NM. Sponsored by the Southwest Women's Fiber Arts Collective (and chaired by SAQA member Lynn Welsch), the festival will include fiber art exhibits, quilts, static fashion show, vendors of fine fiber art, fiber art supplies, workshops and demos.

TWO SAQA NEW MEXICO MEETINGS IN NOVEMBER

Saturday, November 19, in Santa Fe at 10:00 AM (THIS IS EARLIER THAN USUAL) at a member's home... check your newsletter. Please plan on bringing food to share (potluck), announcements, new work (show and tell), AND YOUR OWN CHAIR. After that you have the opportunity to attend a demonstration by former SAQA member Ann Ferkovich at Santa Fe Quilting from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Ann will demo mixing fabric and paper with glue and sewing with it. The demo is free but YOU MUST SIGN UP by calling 505-473-3747 or signing up at the shop, which is at 3018 A Cielo Court, Santa Fe, NM 87507. Questions? Contact Julie Filatoff at julie@jirafstudio.com

UNCOMMON THREADS DEADLINE IS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6
Uncommon Threads II is an exhibition of contemporary art quilts at the First Unitatrian Church in Albuquerque from Sunday, January 8, through Saturday, February 18, 2012. We encourage ALL SAQA NM members--regardless of how long they have been an art quilter or a SAQA member--to enter this wonderful show. Betty Busby writes, "We have a wonderful opportunity to have a show and sale at the First Unitarian Church in Albuquerque this coming January. It is a lovely place to have an exhibition, with a discerning and enthusiastic audience. Full details are in the prospectus and entry form. In order to make it easiest on everyone, I have requested that the application form and digital images be emailed. If you are unable to do this, please contact me so we can make other arrangements. I hope you will all consider participating in this show!"
