MESSAGE FROM OUR NEW SAQA NM REPRESENTATIVE

I hope you are having a wonderful holiday! I'm looking forward to serving for the next two years as your new New Mexico Regional SAQA Representative. Thank you Julie and Ann for your service over the past two years. You both have created very big shoes that I will never be able to fill.
January 8th is the opening of "Uncommon Threads II" at the First Unitarian Church on the SW corner of Comanche and Carlisle. A reception/mercado will be held before(9:00 - 9:30), between(10:00 - 10:30) and after their services(12:00 - 12:30). Everyone is invited and some who are exhibiting will sell small works at the mercado.
January 8th will also be the date of the the first SAQA meeting. It will be held at 1:30 pm at Ambassadors for Christ Community Church, 1540 Juan Tabo NE, Suite A in Albuquerque. The church is located on the east side of Juan Tabo between Constitution and Indian School. Since many will be attending "Uncommon Threads II" in the morning we will not have our usual pot luck. I hope you can get together with friends after the exhibit and have a bite to eat before coming the the meeting at 1:30. I will provide dessert and a beverage.
We will have a very short presentation on what SAQA is, so this is a good time to bring any friends who might be interested in SAQA but want to know more. We will have updates on the open space visitor's center show being planned for December 2012 and the SAQA conference in Santa Fe 2013. We will talk about upcomming additions Donna Dixon will be adding to the new SAQA NM blog http://saqanm.blogspot.com (Thank you Donna!) and much more. Please bring your show and tell, as we always enjoy seeing what everyone is working on.
I look forward to seeing you on the 8th.
