SILVER CITY FIBER FESTIVAL

The SEEDS BY SAQA exhibit will open at the Silver City Fiber Arts Festival on Friday, July 17.  It will be on display both Friday and Saturday.  For more information on the festival and hotel information, click here.

From Michelle:  Our July New Mexico SAQA meeting and dinner will be at 6 pm Friday night at the Adobe Springs Restaurant on Hwy. 180 in Silver City.   Please let Michelle know if you will be attending so she can make reservations.

There will be no workshops in Silver City.  Many were concerned that they would miss the  information because they couldn't attend the workshops in Silver City.  They may be held in conjunction with a future meeting.

MEETING REVIEW

Beautiful Shibori Dyed Fabric by Linda

From Michelle:

The Santa Fe meeting on Saturday, May 16, was an adventure in wonderland with a short blizzard. Twenty of us braved the weather to attend.
Planning is taking place for the mini workshops and dinner that will take place with the opening of "How Does Your Garden Grow" at the Silver City Fiber Arts Fiesta, July 17th and 18th.   Hotel recommendations will also be available shortly.
A newsletter will follow soon with much more info.

I am taking a few week hiatus from the blog and will update again in mid-June.

HAPPY QUILTING!

NEW INFORMATION ON THE BLOG

There are a few changes to the SAQA New Mexico blog.  There are new tabs below the header:  IMPORTANT DATES and CALL FOR ENTRY:  SEEDS BY SAQA.

IMPORTANT DATES list the next meeting date and location, in this case March 14 in Albuquerque.  Following will be relevant dates for our shows...openings, closings, deliveries, deadlines for submission.  Use this page as a quick reference guide to keep your calendar up to date.

CALL FOR ENTRY pages contain the prospectus and entry form for each show.  When the submission deadline has passed, the general show information will remain available in one place, but the heading will note the application is closed.

I hope these pages will encourage our members to use this blog as a source for "what" and "when" things are happening in this region.
